GPS Insight Fleet Tracking Functionality: Alerts
Fleet Tracking Alerts provide instant notifications based on your fleets activity.
GPS Insight Fleet Tracking Alerts automatically send proactive messages to yourself, your supervisors, and even your drivers. Alerts can be as specific as possible by selecting only certain vehicles, certain times, certain days, in certain landmark groups, in any combination.
Alert types and example screenshots:
Speeding Alert
When a vehicle goes above a designated speed.
Example: A driver goes 10mph over the posted speed limit. An alert would then be triggered and sent via email and/or sms text message.
Idling Alert
When a vehicle is running without movement.
Example: A driver makes a stop or delivery and leaves the vehicle running with the air conditioning on for 30 minutes.
Driver Login Alert
When a driver does not log in when starting a trip.
Example: A vehicle is moving without the driver logging in - it's possible the vehicle is being stolen.
Long Stops Alert
When a vehicle stops for a specified amount of time.
Example: A vehicle has been parked for 4 hours, but the driver's daily route usually consists of quick 30 minute or less stops.
Odd-hours Alert
When a vehicle is driving during unauthorized times.
Example: One of your vehicles is moving during the middle of the night - it's possible the vehicle is being stolen.
Landmark/Geofence Alert
When a vehicle enters or exits a particular landmark area.
Example: Keep track of every time one of your employees drives in and out of the supply warehouse.
Switch-based Alert
When a switch or power cycle is triggered.
Example: When an ambulance turns on sirens or when a garbage truck lifts its arm.
Out-of-Range Alert
When a vehicle is out of cellular coverage for a period of time.
Example: When a driver may have intentionally disconnected the unit in order to escape being tracked.
Late Arrival Alert
When arriving late from landmark-to-landmark.
Example: A vehicle takes longer than specified to drive between landmarked locations.
Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) Alert
When your engine reports a diagnostic trouble code.
Example: Schedule engine maintenance when this alert goes off to keep your fleet running smoothly.
